Edward James Olmos To Play A Latino Superhero
Our dear friend Carlos Guerra used to make a joke that it was a federal law that Edward James Olmos had to be in any movie about Latinos. And while I thought it was pretty funny (Carlos’ delivery was always hilarious to me), I have to give Olmos credit for a great body of work. What’s next for the actor, Yahoo reported:
While there may be a ton of superhero movies flooding the market, Olmos believes this one will be different. For one thing, the hero is Latino, something rarely seen before. Olmos told his son Michael, who helps run his production company, to find a project which featured a Latino hero…
Edward James Olmos will play a Latino soldier who underwent various medical experiments in Vietnam and ended up with superpowers. It takes him a long time to adjust to becoming a hero and, when the movie begins, he is severely injured and loses his powers. He must then learn to cope with the loss of his powers and the post traumatic stress disorder that comes with years of abuse.
Seriously, how cool is that? We reported that Marvel introduced a Latina Spider Girl, and I think Olmos’ idea here sounds pretty neat, what do you think? Would you and your family go see this movie?
