Asking White People for Papers in Arizona

Comedian Steve Hofstetter went to the Arizona State Capitol and asked various white people outside whether they were Canadian and if they had papers to prove it.  Surprisingly, they didn’t really take to the idea of carrying papers around or having to prove that they were American, because it’s just not right.

We’ve written about Arizona’s SB 1070 before, and some of the fallout from that, how other states like Florida and Texas are mimicking the law, and the hate that runs through it.  Immigration is definitely a complicated issue, but targeting people based on their skin color is not likely to solve the problem.

In Arizona’s case, it simply drove away 100,000 Mexicans from the state, at least, who knows how many dollars.
