How would Henry Muñoz III be a disaster as chairman of the Democratic National Committee?
Let us count the ways.
The San Antonio architectural-firm executive has been making noises over the past few days that he would be willing to throw his silk guayabera in the ring for the chairmanship of his party, which is reeling from a devastating national election last Tuesday.
Muñoz, who has served as DNC finance chairman for nearly four years, said Monday that he is “seriously considering jumping into the race” for DNC chair.

The overriding lesson from Hillary Clinton’s defeat to Donald Trump in the presidential race was that voters are fed up with old-school politics. They hate the idea of a permanent political class that insinuates itself into positions of influence and plays the angles to advance its own interests.
Muñoz is the poster boy for that kind of politics. He collects political IOUs and cashes them on the regular, and when things get messy he leaves other people to clean up the wreckage.
