If you like reading transition tea leaves — and we do — it’s hard to ignore the signs of Hillary Clinton favor floating around House Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra.

The California congressman received one of the best speaking slots at the Democratic convention, appearing onstage on the final night just before Chelsea Clinton introduced Hillary Clinton. In the last year, he’s traveled to 14 states as a campaign surrogate. And Clinton herself called him a “particular friend” on MSNBC in June.
