Utah’s governor and a Latino community advocate called for answers Wednesday in the death of a prison inmate who died after dialysis providers failed to show up for his treatment.

Gov. Gary Herbert told KSL Radio that the death of 62-year-old inmate Ramon C. Estrada is a tragedy, and he wants to find out what happened and who is responsible.

“It’s just hard to comprehend,” Herbert said. “I would expect even the inmate themself would say, ‘I’m supposed to have a treatment. Where is the guy? Why is he not here?'”

Tony Yapias, who directs the advocacy group Proyecto Latino De Utah, said he has called the governor’s office to ask for a full investigation
