Latino Oscar winners and nominees through the years

When it comes to Academy Award nominations, much has been said about the lack of diversity this year.

Unfortunately, in the Academy’s 87 years, it has often been the case that African-Americans, Latinos and Asians are under-represented. This year, however, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, from Mexico, is up for best director for his movie “Birdman.”

In his honor we take a look at the Latino actors, actresses and directors who have been nominated for Oscars over the years.
