Latinas for Latino Lit (L4LL) Summer Reading Program Named One of the Best in the Nation
Latinas for Latino Lit (L4LL) proudly announces our selection as one of the nation’s top summer reading programs, according to Univision Educación. L4LL’s Latino Children Summer Reading Program, including the L4LL Do It Yourself (DIY) Summer Reading Camp, is in the company of notable, well-established national programs including the Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge and the Collaborative Summer Library Program.
In its second year, the L4LL Latino Children’s Summer Reading Program, powered by Google, aims to combat summer reading loss where students can lose up to 22% of what they learned during the school year through a pedagogically designed, fun, and culturally relevant program. It is the only, nationwide online program specifically designed to reach, teach, and engage Hispanics–the country’s fastest growing segment of the student body, population, and workforce.
The Top Summer Reading Programs List is one of various education-focused resources Univision Educación is disseminating to Latino parents and educators as part of education campaigns with The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation explaining college readiness and Common Core standards and the Clinton Foundation promoting the importance of early learning.
Education and literacy organization Latinas for Latino Lit (L4LL) is the home of the first, online nationwide Latino Children’s Summer Reading Program. L4LL’s mission is to raise literacy rates, which improves educational and life outcomes. Join us.
