Supreme Court Rejects AZ’s Appeal Seeking To Punish People Who Harbor Undocumented Immigrants
*Arizona Governer Jan Brewer has taken her state’s ban on harboring undocumented immigrants as far as she could. To no avail. A circuit court had ruled that the Arizona harboring ban was vague and trumped by federal law. But Brewer insisted to the highest court, and SCOTUS said … nothing. They won’t hear the case and that is that. VL
The Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal, at the request of Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, over a part of Arizona’s immigration law that would call on police to arrest people who harbor undocumented immigrants.
The justices had no comment Monday on their order declining to review a ruling that blocked enforcement of that part of Arizona’s 2010 immigration law.
