Latino students make SAT history

Texas college-bound test takers made history during the 2012-13 school year. For the first time, more Hispanic students took the SAT than white students.
The difference was close to 1,000, according to the Texas Education Agency.
Local educators who specialize in college readiness gave more than one reason for the change — the increase in the state’s Hispanic student population being the most significant factor.
