Latino clowns meet in Covina for first international convention

COVINA – Clowning around may seem all fun and games. But a group of clowns see making people laugh as serious business.
Just as “Candy La Payasita” notes, it’s not about just anyone putting on makeup and a red nose — if you have a clown who is not entertaining, “they’re going to ruin your party.”
As part of the first-ever Congreso Internacional de Payasos USA 2013, a convention specifically aimed at Latino clowns, or ‘payasos’, a group of about 50 entertainers learned more about the business of clowning this week.
