NewsTaco & Mi Familia Vota Co-sponsor Vote Twitter Party Sept. 25

By Victor Landa, NewsTaco

On the up side, and according to  most every political observer, the Latino electorate is poised to make it’s mark on this presidential election. On it’s underbelly, it’s really a statistical picture that  needs dot connecting , swing state to swing state, where a wide enought sliver of Latino voters can make a difference if and when they go to the polls this election day.

It’s been estimated that 11.5 million eligible Latino voters will stay home on election day. I’ll let that reality settle in.

Now here’s what you can do about it.  If you’re not yet registered to vote, do so. If you are, look for folks who aren’t and should be, and pester them until they do. If you need voter registration or election information pertinent to your state, or if you need encouragement from like minded people, join us next Tuesday, National Register to Vote day, for a twitter party where we’ll be taking about the Latino vote, dispensing info, trading stories and experiences.

We’ve joined forces with Mi Familia Vota, a national organization that has people on the ground across the country, registering Latinos, and preparing to move them to the polls on election day.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • The Twitter Party is Tuesday September 25th
  • From 8 to 9pm EST
  • Hashtag #Vota2012
Bring your questions, your information, and your enthusiasm. we’ll need them and we’ll see you (Tweet you?) there!
