Ruben Navarrette: Latinos not at the table (San Jose Mercury News): I hear it from Latinos all the time: One of the things they find galling about the mainstream media is when they turn on the television and four pundits are sitting at a table discussing Latinos or some issue that impacts Latinos — and there isn’t a single Latino present.

Latino immigrants as job creators (Voxxi): CFR’s Renewing America initiative just released a new report by Alexandra Starr, a fellow at the New America Foundation, titled “Latino Immigrant Entrepreneurs: How to Capitalize on Their Economic Potential.” Through statistics and personal stories, the report explores Latino immigrant entrepreneurs’ growing contributions to the U.S. economy. Contrary to many who assume Latino immigrants just take away American jobs, Latino immigrants have played an important role in helping to revive small U.S. towns.

Immigrant-rights groups divided over bills on Gov. Brown’s desk (Los Angeles Times): A split emerged in the immigrant rights community Thursday over two bills on the governor’s desk.
