Because Today Is Mother’s Day…
This week is a double celebration for mothers, on May 10 for Mexican mothers and on the 12th for those who live in the U. S. What is equally important is the role that mother’s play within the family. It’s expected that mothers act as a guide, leading the way, that they correct behaviors if family beliefs and habits aren’t met, and that they seek help if they feel their children out of control, either because of school performance or because teens may be breaking rules, experimenting with drugs or alcohol.
Today you can celebrate with your children if you’ve fulfilled your assigned role as mother, or you can use the day as a reminder that you are the one forming the future of your children; and if things are not right, use this day as a prompt to seek professional help before society intervenes to the point of punishing the poor performance of your children.
“We make decisions out of love that serve to educate good men and women.”
What would you be willing to do for your children?
If you knew you could lose them?
If you knew they were in danger?
Being firm and resolute will probably not go over well with your children, but will ensure them a dignified role in society, and it’ll give you the pleasure of having played the loving role of mother.
