Great Images of Cinco De Mayo
Because it’s only four days away, it’s time to start thinking of Cinco de Mayo.
Cinco de Mayo is a bigger deal here in the U.S. than it is in Mexico, where the Battle of Puebla (for the unbeknownst, it’s the reason behind the celebration) occurred. That said, it’s not entirely forgotten over there. The historic battle – when the Mexican forces defeated the French army at Puebla – is recreated in the small central Mexican town, and here in the U.S. the date is earmarked for blow-out festivals and music and beer laden celebrations.
As you’d expect, here and in Mexico, there’s got to be someone with a camera taking some very good pictures of the going’s-on. The folks over at at mysanantonio.com compiled a great slide show of pictures from both sides of the border – they’re worth a look, or two.
