City Of Compton Settles With Latinas, District Elections May Follow
The City of Compton in the Los Angeles area is a historically black community, consequently it’s at-large city council elections have resulted in black candidates being elected. The now-majority Latino community sought a piece of the political pie, when two Latinas sued the city, claiming this system disenfranchised Latino voters.
