Robert Redford Endorses Marty Chávez For NM Congress

Actor and artist extraordinaire Robert Redford just endorsed Marty Chávez for congress in New Mexico. Chávez is the former mayor of Albuquerque, New Mexico and a candidate for U.S. Congress (NM-01). Here’s a snippet from the statement from Redford:

Throughout my life I have sought to inspire positive social and environmental change by encouraging creative solutions and innovative problem solving. Never have these approaches been more pertinent to the issues we face as a nation and in order to meet the needs of the next generation of Americans, we must elect leaders who understand how to get the results we need.

That’s exactly why I’m supporting Marty Chavez’s race for United States Congress. Washington needs his leadership on critical issues like protecting our environment and building sustainable infrastructure for our communities…

Marty and I currently work together on the U.S. Green Building Council’s Center for Green Schools which aims to have every child in America attending a green school within this generation.  Marty’s leadership on this issue has been vital, because we need creative ideas and bold solutions to tackle our education challenges and his leadership at ICLEI USA addressing climate change was significant on a national level.
