LA School Named After Carlos Santana

The Los Angeles Unified School District Board voted this week to rename a school that will focus on the arts Carlos Santana Arts Academy; it was previously called Valley Region Elementary School No. 12, the Los Angeles Times reported.

That’s cool, right? Santana was flattered and said, according to The Times:

“By investing patience, compassion, kindness and gentle wisdom, each child will bear the fruit of divinity.

“With gratitude, I am deeply honored that you chose to name your new school Carlos Santana Arts Academy.”

Finally, the school’s capacity is about 650 and is located in the San Fernando Valley, to the northwest of Los Angeles proper.
