Guapura 101: A Few Tips For Your Underarms

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I am no health and beauty expert. Yet, last night I was talking to a friend of mine who is always self-conscious about the amount of sweat in her armpits and she suggested I write this up. I don’t have a ton of tips, but the ones I do have work for me, and her, so here they are.

Blow dry your armpits after your bathe. This may seem strange, but I started to do it after a conversation with a doctor once, and basically I don’t use hot air, just air. Dry your armpits before you apply deodorant or whatever and you’ll probably sweat less and smell less, which makes sense because you dry the area where bacteria will live and allow the deodorant to do its magic without extra moisture there.

Apply baby powder after you blow dry, before deodorant. I actually use Mexsana, which is for your feet, but I find works better than regular baby powder. This will keep you drier, and as I said, it also helps significantly with odor.

Incidentally, I use deodorant made from natural stuff, not the antiperspirant, since there’s some crazy evidence that the aluminum in the deodorant can mess you up. This is why I switched, so if you use antiperspirant deodorant, perhaps these tips don’t make any sense to you.

Anyways, those are my two cents, have you ever tried these tips? What do you think?
