Guapura 101: 3 Easy Hairstyles For Medium, Long Hair

So I’m the kind of gal that wants quick, easy and ready-to-go hair. For this reason, and also because I like the idea of long hair, I’ve sported medium-to-long hair for the past 10 years or so. And, honestly, when I’m in a rush to get somewhere while looking presentable — I usually am in a rush, too — there are only really three options for  medium or long hair, and here they are:

  1. Ponytail. I love this hairstyle because it’s quick, simple and easy to dress up. You can either use a liga, rubber band-type apparatus to hold your hair up, or some kind of clip, which not only dresses it up but usually I find is a lot better for keeping the ponytail in place longer. What’s more, if you want to get fancy you can do multiple ponytails, weave braids into your ponytails or wrap some hair around the base of your ponytail so it looks fancier.
  2. Bun. The best part about the bun is that there are multiple options. You can use a butterfly clip to just grab your hair and hold it, use a rubber band to loop it around, do a fancy French bun or any other type of bun. There are options, if you want to go business professional, business casual or just “I have to go buy some bread at the store.”
  3. Down, with or without clips. This one, honestly, is what I usually go with because it requires the least effort on my part and is usually, unless we’re talking triple-digit weather, the most comfortable. However, it’s also easy to dress up; you can use clips on one side or both sides of your head to pull back just a little bit of hair. I find that the one side works for casual, fun events and the two sides for more serious ones, but that’s just me.

Of course when I had really, really long hair, say almost to my lower back, there was always the single or double braid option, which was easy and so I selected often. Once your hair is shorter, it’s not nearly as easy to braid, at least in my experience, so these days I’m often choosing either ponytail or down, usually sans clips.

Did I miss any?
