HBO Announces Grant For Latino Documentary Filmmakers
HBO is set to offer Latino documentary filmmakers a chance to make their films with a new grant created in part with the National Association of Latino Producers. The $10,000 grant is supposed to help Latino documentarians shine a spotlight on the Latino experience and Latinos in the U.S.
The application, here, may be accepted until June 10 and submissions may be in the form of completed features, rough cuts or works currently in progress. Winners will be announced in the fall of this year.
We’ve written several times about Latino filmmakers before. Latino filmmakers, because of the scarcity of these types of grants, have turned to social media to fund their feature-length films. This isn’t even to mention the bias that some Latino moviemakers say exists against Latinos in that industry.
