Happy Friday From Héctor Lavoe!
I know it’s a bit late, but I didn’t discover the wonderful Héctor Lavoe until last summer. But, believe me, once I did, I was sooo glad! I always say that I am a mediocre musician at best — I played clarinet in junior high and high school — but I’m glad I was schooled in music because it allows me to recognize musical talent. And believe me, whatever “it” is — Lavoe’s got it!
His music is not only catchy, danceable and pretty, but I found that he’s also talking about some heavy existential issues in his songs. I included a few of my favorites, although I totally admit I am no expert, what’s your favorite?
