How Do We Get More Latinos To Vote?

I’ve written several times about how of all of the Latinos that live in the US, only 41 percent are eligible to vote. That means that they are citizens at least 18 years of age. All the other Latinos in the country are either too young to vote or are not citizens.

So for all the talk about the torrent of Latino population growth, the direct effect on politics lags. The only solution is time. With time more young Latinos will be of voting age, and more resident Latinos will be able to become citizens and will hopefully register and vote.

The other part of this same discussion is about voter registration and turnout. If 41 percent of all Latinos are eligible to vote, a smaller percentage is actually registered to vote, and of those an even smaller percentage goes to the polls. What do we do about that?
