Real Cowboys Ride Bulls

Von Ormy

“A rider is bucked off a bull amidst beer cans at the El Bajio ranch. The ranch hosts monthly Mexican-style bull riding, called Jaripeo. Anyone who signs a liability waver and fashions spurs on their boots can take a ride for $20. No cash prizes are awarded, but cowboys earn the respect of the crowd for their style and staying power, riding the bull until it stops bucking instead of riding for eight seconds, common in American-style rodeo.”
