Hugo and Fidel are in Qaddafi’s Corner

Two Spanish dichos come to mind: Dios los hace y ellos se encuentran, God creates them and they find each other; and cada loco con su tema, which kinda’ defies translation but is roughly about the mind-bubble where crazy folks live. Fox News Latino reports that Venezuelan President-dictator-mandamás Hugo Chavez and Cuban recluse and former dictator Fidel Castro are sympathetic to Qaddafi’s plight, being on the US’ dung list and all.

…president Hugo Chávez has held conversations with Moammar Gadaffi about establishing a group of friendly nations that would help mediate a solution to the conflict in Libya.

Chávez, has said before that he won’t give in to any nation or organization compelling him to condemn Gadaffi, and that an attack or invasion on Libya perpetrated by American forces, is imminent, a quote of sorts from an article written on Tuesday by Fidel Castro.

Apparently in 2004 Hugo gave Muammar an award for his campaign against “the effects of imperialism and the enemies of freedom inside and outside” Venezuela.

I think they should have a reality show and call it desperate despots. It would be like watching a train wreck, which is why we watch reality TV to begin with.

There are no reports as to Qaddafi’s response to Chavez’ offer. But that’s understandable, being that he’s otherwise occupied, at the moment.
