NewsTaco To Go: Budget, Middle East, Narco Sub, Prices and Germs

Lots of talk about the budget, the Middle East is still all aflutter with activity, prices are going up, authorities in Colombia found a drug submarine and men’s homes are disgusting.

President Barack Obama’s budget includes cuts to agriculture subsidies, cuts more than 200 federal programs but focuses on education, energy, medical research and bringing high-speed Internet to most of the country. Perhaps most exciting, though, is that the budget hopes to speed up generic drug availability.

Middle Eastern countries continue to see protests, Egypt seems to have inspired people to protest in Iran, Yemen, Bahrain, as well as Jordan.

Consumer prices are rising — that means everything we buy from food to clothes to electronics will be more expensive in the coming year. This is because the materials used to make these products have risen in price.

Colombian military officials reported finding a 100-foot submarine used by drug organizations in that country that could smuggle up to 8 tons of cocaine to México.

Science says men are disgusting — at least bachelors. A study found that bachelors have 15 times more germs (including feces) in their homes than women.
