Racial Profiling – What Would You Do?
I thought this was awesome, especially since John Quiñones is a native San Antonio south sider. He’s got a show on ABC called “What Would You Do?” where situations are concocted and played out in public places, cameras rolling, to put people in ethical dilemmas and gauge their response – seeing someone steal a tip from a restaurant table or listening to a father verbally abuse his son.
What Quiñones did was take his cameras to Arizona where a blatant case of racial profiling was enacted in a small restaurant. Everything was caught on camera.
It was interesting to see this unfold in what is considered the epicenter of anti-immigrant sentiment. The restaurant patrons’ reactions varied from outrage to confrontation and deliberate action. It was a good way to see angry policy in action, to put laws into practical situations and see them unfold.
You can watch the segment HERE.
I love the lady that yells ¡lárgate! ¡gringo!…she was really p.o.’d.
