- Inflation will be affecting food prices in the U.S. and around the world this year. These prices will consequently affect prices at restaurants.
- Wal-Mart to begin to sell more healthy food, a five-year planned developed in part with First Lady Michelle Obama. Packaged foods at the retailer are now set to be lower in salt, sugar, fat and Wal-Mart will also sell fruits and veggies cheaper.
- The U.S. House votes to repeal Health Care Reform, the Republican-controlled House voted 245-189 to repeal the law with the bill Repealing the Job-Killing Health Care Law Act.
- U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords – D, can now stand up with help from hospital staff and will be moved to Houston for rehab.
- Global warming making ocean, land hotter than previously thought, according to a report from the journal Nature Geoscience, a new study found that the Earth’s warming is “substantially larger” than previously thought.
