Latinos, ‘Yo Soy Tu Dueña’ Rule TV
The sexy telenovela “Yo Soy Tu Dueña,” starring the ever-tanned Fernando Colunga and the lovely Lucero was the top-rated show on TV Tuesday and Wednesday. Did I mention Fernando Colunga? I’ll let Mediaite explain:
“The telenovela…was the top draw in primetime Tuesday–and again Wednesday, beating Fox’s Human Target and shows like ABC’s Modern Family. The show–about a woman left at the altar–debuted on Univisión in June and has racked up blockbuster ratings. So much so, Wednesday night, Univisión was America’s top-rated network among viewers 18-49.”
Now I cannot answer the question as to whether this means more Lucero/Fernando Colunga action to come. But one thing it does say is that, as we’ve been hammering away at here at NewsTaco, Latinos are a growing force in this country — culturally, politically, economically, etc.
Although, I haven’t had the chance to see “Yo Soy Tu Dueña,” I’m sure it’s good. Whether it’s as good as “Mañana Es Para Siempre” is something I’d have a hard time believing.
