Life 30 Days Out for Chilean Miners

Despite having undergone a terrible ordeal, stuck for 69 days underground, the Chilean miners are now moving on with their lives and getting used to their newfound celebrity.

The Associated Press reports in Spanish and English that the miners are trying to profit from their experience while their story is hot 30 days out, and that the few who have agreed to be interviewed have done so mostly for money (to which I say, good for them!).

Apparently, the miners made a pact that they would keep the details of their lives in the first 17 days before they were discovered secret, in order to preserve it for a book or movie deal they would split financially.  So, what they’re saying in interviews is pretty canned, about pain and suffering and hope.

Whatever the case, it’s still amazing they’re alive, I hope they all make the best of their lives.
