Latino Voter Roundup: More Voters and Influence
Hey everyone, as we all know “Latino voters” have been all the buzz during this electoral cycle. Â Just wanted to share a little bit of the info that’s out there about this voting bloc:
- A record 77% of voters who are Latino say they will be voting this election.
- Everyone wants to be best friends with the “Latino vote.” We are “the key,” apparently.
- And Obama is sorry he said something in bad taste about Latinos a while ago.
- Latino early voters grew by 13% this year over the last election in 2006.
- Latino Republican candidates are set to do well in this election. Â Especially in Texas. Â Part of the reason why is because they’re splitting the Latino vote thanks to some concerns about health care.
- Meanwhile, in Califas, Latino voters may be turning away from Democratic Senator (and candidate) Barbara Boxer. Â They also might be more interested in environmental issues there.
- In New York Latino voters are set to “jam up” the polls.
- They’ll be in Chicago, too.
- Harry Reid is saying that, if he gets elected, he will bring a vote on the DREAM Act.
- The “Don’t Vote” dude actually voted.
- Everyone is worried about economics.
- Immigration is also a big deal.
- Hopefully no one will have trouble voting, despite crazy people out to protect from “voting fraud” from anyone who looks brown.
In that vein, if anyone experiences harassment, please share your experiences with us, email me admin@sarainescalderon.com. Â Gracias, now go vote!
