GOP Accused of Nasty Racism

The saddest thing is, I think it’s healthy to have a dialogue between political sides, but this is a bit much.  I’ve got two items for you today.  One is a Tea Party candidate who said black men prefer to peddle drugs over college because it’s “easier” and a former black employee of the National Republican Club of Capitol Hill who is suing for wage discrimination.

First, the Tea Party candidate, Al Reynolds running for Illinois’ 52nd state senate seat said:

“I’ve been in the city and the dichotomy of the women and the men in the minorities, there is a difference in the fact that most minority women, either the single parent or coming from a poor neighborhood, are motivated more so than the minority men…And it’s a pretty good reason. Most of the women who are single parents have to find work to support their family. The minority men find it more lucrative to be able to do drugs or other avenues rather than do education. It’s easier.”

Thanks for that GREAT insight Reynolds, here’s the video:

Then there was the matter of Kim Crawford, who worked as a human resources manager at the Capitol Hill Club for more than ten years. The last eight she alleges she didn’t get a raise and has filed a federal complaint saying she was passed over for raises several times while “less qualified, less deserving male and white counterparts were given” more money. Then, after investigating complains of racial discrimination, she was fired.
