The Border’s the New Military Industrial (Govt) Cash Cow

A scathing analysis by the Government Accountability Office tracks in detail how the feds granted a multi-billion dollar contract to Department of Defense-darling Boeing to create a super-high-tech virtual border fence that would use satellites, detectors of all sorts, and all kinds of high-tech gadgetry to detect unauthorized immigrants from coming into our country.

It has one problem. It doesn’t, and it is not likely to ever work. Not in any form or fashion.
The Safe Border Initiative Network has been a total waste of taxpayer money.

That there were problems with the project was obvious early on but the Department of Homeland Security, nevertheless, kept sending Boeing the checks but didn’t check on how the project was coming along — or where it was failing to live up to its promises — and never concluded that it was all hocus-pocus and smoke-and-mirrors until hundreds of millions had been wasted on the multimillionaire snake-oil purveyors.

As the late Esteban “Steve” Jordán would have said, “Era puro piris-huiris.”
