There are several reasons why all male residents of the United States should sign up with the U.S. Selective Service. This includes immigrant male residents, documented or not.
The simplest reason is that it’s the law. But there are other, more practical reasons. For immigrants seeking eventual citizenship the Selective Service is a key to a seamless process.
