Federal Judge Blocks Alabama Immigration Law
It’s happened again.
Another state level immigration law has been blocked by a federal judge, this time in Alabama.
News Taco reported on this law and on the fact that among all of the state level immigration laws, more than 13 at last count, this law in Alabama was the most stringent.
What sets this law apart from the rest is that it requires school officials to ask for and report the citizenship of the children that are enrolled in the state’s public school system. So the parents of the children have to prove the citizenship of their children when the enroll them in school – the consequence being that if they’r not citizens they’ll be reported to the proper immigration authorities.
You can see why this is considered the worst of all state immigration schemes.
The news is that the Alabama law has been stopped, albeit temporarily, by a federal judge.
