Casey Anthony Found Not Guilty

Almost three years after the death of then-two year-old Caylee Anthony, her mother Casey was found not guilty in the death of her daughter. This was one of the most difficult murder cases we’d seen in a while.

How could we as a country have been so quick to judge her as guilty? Her sin, in my opinion, was being young and inexperienced in caring for her daughter.

The police took it as a given that she was guilty because of the way she behaved, when in reality what she was doing was evading the painful tragedy, trying to deny the pain she was experiencing.

Of course, lying is wrong, but there are people who do it compulsively, compuslive liars. The result of this trial should be a lesson to many who judge willy nilly and can destroy the life of someone innocent, who after losing her daughter, is judged by a society with its own biases, punishing her for her appearances and youth.

What do you think about this case? Do you judge her as guilty, or concede that there’s a sliver of doubt?
