Man, Ritchie Valens was a hard core rock star! C’mon, you know him, even if you never heard his music, because who hasn’t been forced to watch “La Bamba” at least once in their lives. I remember growing up that was one of the movies that was frequently at Sunday afternoon feature. But what I remember most about that movie was feeling connected to Valens for working so hard to achieve his dream, and feeling so sad that it was cut so short.
Although we’ll never know what his career could have been if he hadn’t been killed in that plane crash, at least we can rock out to the awesome music he made when he was still with us. Happy Friday!
