The Browning of America – In Context

It’s happening, but we can’t let it happen on its own – the Census tells us, what we know tells us, what we see and hear tell us, America is becoming browner.

Depending on who you talk to this is either a great thing or disastrous for the American way and everything on the list that comes after baseball and apple pie – never mind Albert Pujols and Tres Leches cake. I think it’s a matter of managed expectations, and context.

• 43% of Latino population growth is attributed to birthrate. A 14% increase fomr 2000.
• Latino business ownership grew by 44%.
• 44% Latino high School completion rate.
