Undocumented Smuggling? There’s an App for That
Prosaic as it’s come to sound, it’s true.
A company in Boston called Owlchemy Labs has developed a game called “Smuggle Truck: Operation Immigration” where the object is to cross a truckload of undocumented people into, presumably, the US. You get a score depending on how many people you manage to smuggle compared to how many fell off the truck along the way.
So if you own an iphone or an ipad, lucky you! The game will be released next month.
The developer, Alex Schwartz, was quoted in Fox News.com:
…the idea for what the company calls “the premiere smuggling game on the App Store” came out of frustration his friends felt while trying to immigrate to the U.S.
I’m anxious to see the reaction among Latinos. Mexicans, I know, have a penchant for dark, self-deprecating humor. We love to turn tragedy on the lightest irony, and laugh.
