Maricopa Co. Attorney Calls For Violence Same Day Giffords Shot
The day Arizona Democratic Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot outside of a supermarket, Saturday morning, Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery was joking to a crowd about violence and calling for them to launch a revolution against the U.S. government.
In a video by Somos Republicans, Montgomery says, “If Janet (Brewer, governor of Arizona) really wanted to do her job, I say we give her a rifle, a couple pairs of combat boots and put her down at the border.” This comment was met with wild laughter, whistles and loud applause.
For about half of the eight-minute video Montgomery rails against immigration, moving onto the business of actually being county attorney and touching on jails, convictions and small government. He then takes time to note that “Barack Obama and his Chicago goons” are essentially destroying the country with a mix of socialism, communism and centralized power.
Montgomery then notes, “We fought a revolution over 200 years ago to put an end to that and we’re going to do it again.” Applause again followed.
