30 Years Later, the First Latina Drum Major at Notre Dame

Many of you college football fans already know this, but Notre Dame is playing in the Sun Bowl, in El Paso, this year. That fact induced a local TV station there to unearth the story of Notre Dame’s first woman drum major, a Latina. What’s remarkable about this is that the University first admitted women to the school in 1972, and a few years later 20 year old Linda Batista was leading the band.
