David Vitter Wins the Prize: Most Vile Anti-Immigrant Ad

Carlos Guerra called our attention to this political ad last week on FaceBook and Twitter. It seems that he and we are not alone in thinking it’s an extreme example of negative political advertising. Republican David Vitter (by the way, when you go to his site, it defaults to his contributions page…) is running for reelection to the US Senate in Louisiana. His ads on television are by far the most divisive and ethno-baiting productions I’ve seen in many years.

Also, the men in the picture in the photo, with the banner “Ilegal Aliens,” are not undocumented. The picture is of Mexican citizens, taken in Mexico.

The ad is called the most vile anti-immigrant ad by Colorlines.com.
